Administrator Vacancy
Discovery Gospel Choir welcomes applicants for the role of Administrator, to commence in March 2023.
Ireland’s leading intercultural gospel choir is seeking an Administrator. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, will be attentive to interpersonal and intercultural dynamics, and will embrace the choir’s ethos and motto ‘Discover beauty in everyone.’ Musical interest is desirable. Day to day administrative duties constitute the primary role. However, periodic project based work offers potential for role expansion.
Responsibilities of the role:
● Support the choir’s executive committee in all operational aspects of the choir, for both internal and external events
● Liaise with choir members, musicians, clients and suppliers in relation to the content, logistics and financial aspects of concerts and events
● Ensure up to date promotional materials and information are available, both online and in printed format, in collaboration with the PR officer
● Administer incoming and outgoing invoices in collaboration with the finance officer – Manage the choir’s information databases and shared drive in collaboration with the committee
● Coordinate regular once-off projects (through additional, mutually agreed hours)
● Book (if necessary) and liaise with the Musical Director in relation to the performances with particular regard to those made by the “small choir” (a subset of the choir who are hired to sing at weddings and, corporate events)
Essential qualities of the successful candidate:
● At least one year’s cumulative experience in a similar role
● Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
● Proficient in Google Suite
● Strong communication and customer service skills
● Ability to work on own initiative
● Self-driven and able to manage and track own workload
● A strong affinity for the choir’s intercultural ethos
Desirable qualities of the successful candidate:
– Musical interest and experience
– Event management experience
This is a contract role where demand for service to a degree depends on clients and therefore time spent carrying out those duties may vary; however, it is expected that the work amounts to an average of 5 hours per week. The number of hours is to be initially capped at 20 hours per month and is subject to a three month review. While the hours are flexible, it is required that the candidate checks emails 5 days a week.
